RelayNode

The RelayNode is a wireless communication component of the BlueNet infrastructure designed specifically for indoor coverage within bunkers. Each RelayNode provides approximately 100 meters of connectivity coverage, enabling seamless device-to-network communication for BlueLink users throughout residential, commercial, and administrative spaces. The nodes are distributed strategically throughout bunker levels, with density and placement reflecting population concentration and usage patterns. Higher-class levels typically have more redundant coverage, while lower levels may have sparser node placement and occasional dead zones.

The RelayNode operates as part of the broader BlueNet infrastructure, connecting to the FiberBackbone through DataHubs for long-distance communication. The system was developed under the open-source standards set by the BlueNet Standards Council, ensuring compatibility across all six Collectives. RelayNodes are maintained by the Engineering Corps, with routine inspections and replacements performed by technical staff. Security monitoring is provided by the Intelligence Bureau to detect unauthorized access or tampering, as compromised nodes could be used for surveillance or data interception.
