PowerGrid

The PowerGrid is the electrical distribution infrastructure that transmits energy from a bunker's ReactorCore to all connected facilities within the underground city. Each bunker operates its own independent PowerGrid, reflecting the self-sufficient design of Collective infrastructure. The grid supplies electricity to residential units, commercial businesses, industrial facilities, medical centers, military installations, schools, and public services. The system includes substations, transformers, distribution lines, and control systems that regulate voltage, manage load, and isolate faults to prevent cascading failures.

The quality and reliability of PowerGrid service is directly tied to bunker class segregation. Higher bunker levels with cleaner air and wealthier residents receive priority power allocation, more stable voltage, and faster repair response. Lower levels experience brownouts, voltage fluctuations, and longer outage durations. Critical infrastructure such as hospitals, military installations, and government facilities have backup power systems and priority restoration protocols. The PowerGrid is maintained by the Engineering Corps, with military escorts required for surface-level infrastructure components housed within the SurfaceBuilding alongside the ReactorCore.
