HydroponicFarm

The HydroponicFarm is an advanced agricultural facility designed to cultivate crops without soil in the sealed environments of Agricultural Bunkers. The system grows vegetables, grains, and fruits using nutrient-rich water solutions circulated through growing channels, with plant roots suspended directly in the solution or supported by inert growing media. Artificial lighting powered by UtilityCores provides the energy necessary for photosynthesis, as no natural light reaches the underground bunkers. The system operates on recycled water and nutrients, with careful monitoring of pH, nutrient concentration, and environmental conditions to maximize crop yield.

The farms are distributed throughout Agricultural Bunkers, with no housing on-site — workers commute by train from Residential Bunkers. The sealed environment is critical for preventing contamination and mutation of crops, as any Ash-fog exposure would render the produce unsafe for consumption. The farms produce the majority of food consumed across all six Collectives, with Collective-2, Agrion, operating the most extensive network of Agricultural Bunkers. Crops are transported via the RailwayNetwork to distribution centers and bunker markets. The hydroponic system is designed for efficiency and reliability, though crop failures can have cascading effects on Collective food supplies.
